Hi there! I’m Beth.
I am a board-certified Physician Assistant and a mom of three young kids—a medical-minded mom. I have over twelve years of clinical experience in surgery, primary care and women’s health.
I am a Type A-leaning person with a medical background and a passion for women’s health. You can imagine how I approached pregnancy and giving birth! But every time, it was the postpartum period that bowled me over with its intensity and with the feelings of isolation and overwhelm that came with it. There weren’t protocols to follow like in prenatal visits, or nurses all around like in Labor and Delivery. But what I was experiencing—physically, emotionally, mentally—felt just as transformative.
There were so many people out there to help: doulas, lactation consultants, night nurses, pelvic floor physical therapists, OB/GYNs, pediatricians. But in a sleep deprived, highly vulnerable and emotional state, not to mention with ongoing physical recovery and a monumental identity shift underway, I felt stuck in information overload. Why was it so much foggier than pregnancy? What I needed was reliable information on my recovery from someone who had the time to sit with me, and to find someone to guide me with next steps in my adjustment to motherhood. I needed to connect with someone who could help me build my village.
My passion for postpartum care was born (ha!). My clinical background means that I come from a place of evidence-based guidance rooted in medical practice. And I use my personal experiences to connect with moms, ensuring they feel seen, understood, and supported. This combination empowers moms in their fourth trimester (and beyond!) to emerge from the fog with confidence and a plan of action.
